This image was created without prior preparation. I went out for a hike with only a 50 mm Cosina lens with no macro capabilities. Its close-up performance is also dubious, and while it's not a soft lens, it's also not the sharpest in my arsenal.
I noticed a lot of liverwort scattered throughout the forest and proceeded to take pictures using what I had on me: the manual standard lens and a close-up filter. While I can't say I was thrilled with most of the photos, this particular one turned out OK.
