A lone tree stands in the middle of a tilled, textured field, beneath a cloudy sky.

Photo taken from a bridge on the road between Stary Olsztyn and Szczęsne, villages near Olsztyn, Poland. I was unable to take a sunrise photo due to the clouds obscuring the sky, but I spotted this lone tree in the field, providing a strong anchor point. I liked the layered patches of trees in the distant fields, disappearing in the distance.

The high contrast scene (I was shooting against the sun) made the negative difficult to work with since Rollei Retro 80S is naturally very contrasty already. I had to carefully adjust the tones to retrieve the deepest shadows without it looking fake or overcooking the highlights. I think it was worth the effort.
